Picture below: Favelas wherever you look arriving by plane. 3 mio. people living like this it seams (minus maybe 3%?). The tourists, that arrive in there cruise ships see only the historical center and maybe have a bit a to positive picture engraved in their mind when thinking of Salvador do Bahia… No need to judge them, for one they chose to take cruise ship holidays (which god will judge them for) and for the other: well the historical center is really very pretty and they paint your arm with white colors and messages of peace and they dance really good Samba and Capoira if you give em some money… Dance monkey, dance! Actually we got so lucky to see some real Salvador on the day when they celebrated the holy Barbara and I gotta tell you I really liked it how they party.

Zweimal hatten wir das Glück auf dieser Reise eine grössere Festlichkeit mit erleben zu dürfen, in Santiago de Cube ihren Carnaval und in Salvador die heilige Barbara, es war nicht Carnival, aber ich denke abgesehen von der Grösse des Events vergleichbar im Style der Party, I liked it a lot! Though Laura couldn’t take it anymore after one hour…
