Every island so far had a very different feel to it. We switched from english to french to english to french. Which also means switching between Euro and the East Carribean Dollar as well as the different power plug each time. Today we leave for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, english speakig again.
Martinique is the ‚most modern‘ island (from the once we saw) with a little bit of an european feel to it. But still very carribean when it comes to people beeing on time or more like not on time… It’s very french in ways that almost no one speaks anything else then french. It’s the holiday place for the french in the carribean. Has hundreds sailboats in every harbour. It’s a bit to fancy for us, not too exiting. Although the little villages are very pretty. It was heavily raining since the begining, must be very frustrating if you are here for one or two weeks of holidays only.
Let’s see what the next island paradies has to offer, we couldn’t really get into any of the french speaking islands so far, so the hopes are up for St Vincent, which is english spoken again…
Fort de France, the capital of Martinique, the prettiest capital city so far
Happy St. Nikolaus !!!
Peace & Love
Danks man!
